CDOT to begin Preventative Bridge Maintenance Project on CO 92

Project Overview

On Monday, March 5, CDOT will begin a bridge maintenance project on CO 92 over the North Fork of the Gunnison  River, near Hotchkiss. Work is scheduled through late May 2018, weather permitting.

Work on this project will include the removal and replacement of three expansion devices, deck repair, and a new concrete overlay. The goal is to extend the life of the bridge and improve traffic conditions and safety to motorists.

ABCO Contracting is the prime contractor for this $542,288 project.

Project Schedule and Information

Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 5, 2018, and is expected to be completed by late May. Crews will work from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. These hours may be extended, and weekend work may occur. This work is weather dependent and the schedule may change.

During working hours, traffic on CO 92 (MP21 to 22) will be placed in a single-lane configuration and crews will hold traffic for up to 10 minutes when queues will be released. Motorists should expect delays when traveling through the area. There will be a 10-ft. width restriction through the work zone.
